Non-CO₂ Greenhouse Gases Tracker
This page presents the current status and trends in emissions of China's three main non-CO₂ greenhouse gases: methane (CH₄), nitrous oxide (N₂O), and fluorinated gases (F-gases). It also provides relevant analyses on non-CO₂ greenhouse gas reduction topics and policies implemented by various levels of government to promote emissions reductions.
Forecast of Non-CO₂ Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trends in China
The emission trends are calculated by iGDP and cross-checked against historical data from the national greenhouse gas inventory. This analysis uses the methodology outlined in the Guidelines for Compiling Provincial Greenhouse Gas Emission Inventory (2011) and accounts for population and economic development trends. The diagram below is based on a Business-As-Usual (BAU) scenario, reflecting only the policies announced and implemented prior to China's dual carbon goals.
